Intention and what is your awareness around your intention.

This is a blog post about intention and awareness in the marketplace

Today, I had a salesmen walk into my salon & coaching studio. He tried to sell me a product that is a multi-level marketing scheme. For those who are not familiar with Multi-level marketing (MLM), it is a marketing strategy.  The sales force is compensated not only for the sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit.  It is a great business, if it works for you, and you got in early when it was first started.

This salesman was an old friend of mine that I had not seen or talked to in quite a few years. My old friend's opening line to me, while I was with a client, was: "I HAVE COME TO SAVE YOU." I was totally taken by surprise and my client looked back at me and said: "Do you need saving?!!?"

I must say I was a little taken back since I didn't know that my old friend was even coming to the salon. We hadn't talked in years and we had totally lost contact with one another. With his opening line of : "I HAVE COME TO SAVE YOU" instead of : "nice to see you again," my reaction was: "Save me from what?"

So, he laid on his sales pitch to say: "Well, to save you from all of this" as he waved his arms around my salon. He apparently assumed that I must be miserable and losing a lot of money being a salon owner during the recession.  So, a little rattled by his assumption I asked him: "To save me from my own dream? To save me from my coaching and teaching career? To save me from the most exciting, fun and invigorating time for myself?  To save me from my clients and the interaction I have with them on a daily basis? To save me from the good group of people that I work with as a team who support each other and encourage one another to go further in our careers as well as in life?
To save me from my growing prosperity?
I do realise that this was his opening pitch for a sales call ... and I get that ... but how effective is your sales pitch when you don't do your research about the person that you would like to sell to. You cannot assume anything.

This blog post is not about the sales pitch and how to do a better one by doing your research (which I strongly recommend).  This is about the awareness of who you are selling to, of knowing your market and your potential customer.  I am a long time friend to this salesman. He relied on old information and a limited awareness of who I am today. He still saw me as a young stylist trying to figure out how to do the salon business and become prosperous

So, I told him: "So good to see you and I do not need saving." I also told him why I didn't need saving -  I was very happy doing my own business and I did not have the time it would take to do multi-level marketing. I also told him that I was aware of his product and it was not a product I could use for my salon or for my clients. I am not sure if he really heard me. He had that glassed over look in his eyes. It was like there was no connection. He was not there to see me and to see how well I was doing. He was there to sell me a product and his multi-level marketing scheme.

I must say that my ego got bruised a bit and I kinda got insulted. I thought, wow he just came here to sell me something that will benefit him, with the expectation of a quick sale. He did not actually see me or realize just how well I have done ... and this was on a very busy day at the salon with a client waiting for me in my studio. He would not listen to anything I was saying. He just pushed and pushed to the point where I had to escort him out of my studio. I told him: "Nice to see you, but not interested."

He was obviously not aware of the true situation of my business. His intention was to sell his product and to sign me up for his marketing scheme. His illusion was not matching up with reality. He didn't see what was in front of him or listen to me telling him that I was just fine. He was still stuck in the past. All he could see was his vision of what he wanted to see. He was ignoring the reality of the situation.

So, the salesman had the intention to sell but he wasn't aware of the true state of my business finances. Without that awareness, it was not a good meeting and his intention was not met. Awareness is the state or ability to perceive, to feel, or to be conscious of events and objects in front of you. Intention is a specific purpose in performing an action or series of actions, the end or goal that you are looking for.

Your intention and your awareness can effect what you perceive and what you are actually doing with your life and your job. For a salesperson, to get the action, you have to truly perceive what the situation is before going for a goal or achieving a sale. My salesman friend had done neither and he lost the sale.

So, thank you old friend for that insightful sales pitch.

"It is already there and waiting for you"

"It is already there and waiting for you"

The goal of prosperity is already there and waiting for you.  It is not as far as you may think....

What would keep you from entering into the life you would like to have? Why did you stop before  achieving your goals? How did you self-sabotage yourself, just before you got to your goal of prosperity, even after all of the hard work of getting there?

How do you become aware that your goal of prosperity was actually right there in front of you and by your walking away, without that last bit of extra effort, you lost that goal?

Do you have the awareness that you often run out of steam when challenges come up for you on your path to your goal of prosperity? Why did you run out of steam and then felt frustrated after you put so much energy into achieving your goal of prosperity?

When you lose sight of your goal, your inspiration and the fun of what you wanted to do with the goal that you set, you may walk away feeling like you have hit a wall and have to start the goal process all over again. But really, you do not have to redo all of your hard work, rework your vision or start the goal process all over again. All you need to do is to start where you left off.  It is closer then you think and closer than where you originally started. With the same energy that you had in the very beginning, you can break through that wall faster and with less effort than before and walk straight into your goal of prosperity

If you concentrate on how hard it is and how long it is going to take to get there, you will run out of steam. If instead you think and feel that "I am already there and I feel the greatness of that goal," you will then see the goal right in front of you. If the feeling and thought is there, then the hardship is leveling and the wall is crumbling. We make our own circumstances. When you make your circumsances support you instead of stopping you, then there is no wall of separation and you have achieved your goal.

So, when you start on your path to reach your goal of prosperity, know that you are already there. You just need to be aware that, when you start out on that path to your vision, you will feel and see whatever there is for you to feel and see to bring you to your vision. You have already done the work that has brought you to this point so you no longer need to look behind you. Instead, you have to move forward to see, feel and find what is right in front of you ... your goal of prosperity.

"Nice to be back at work this morning in the waves"

(Wave Photo Art by Mark Middleton)

Aloha ...

What a week! Like a set of waves I had three things happen to me this week that were awesome for my career... I had a weekend movie shoot for hair to be on set for being a hair stylist (Wave 1)...Next day at my Lava 405 Hair Studio Salon jamming on new hairstyles and having a grate time with my clients (Wave 2)... Then starting my Coach salon training classes with new students & giving a tella-Class on line (Wave 3) ....

Like a set of waves and going into the water and diving threw each set instead of resisting them and knocking you over but to dive threw them and the calm ocean right behind them and the experience of going threw each wave "Wow" what a grate feeling. To look at and ride strait into the waves and never look away from the waves then you may get tumbled.

So how do you look onto a new wave when it comes your way?

"Sit in your stuff to feel your truth"

Aloha Everyone,

I was just talking to one of my fellow life coaches and we were talking about when you get upset and you are in contrast to what you are upset about and you do not agree in this situation that has come up for you we as coaches call this "you sitting in your stuff" or are you sitting on your truth?

Meaning...your truth is all about what your core values are to you and what you would like out of life or a situation and it is just enough of a bump like a bump in the road to have you slow down and realise and see what you do not wont and to let you know you are veering off this road to see where you truth is for you.

When you see, speak, or feel your truth it does not matter what anyone ells thinks or reacts to your truth because it is your truth "for you" it is what is your core value.

Your truth will keep you on the road and still steer you in the right direction for what ever that is for you.

So when something for you comes up that is totally against your core value to your truth comes up for you just take the time to just Sit and feel or to sit and feel your truth of what ever that is for you.

Your truth will keep you on the road and still steer you in the right direction for what ever that is for you.

"Aloha" How To Achieve Maximum Productivity While Gaining Sanity & Balance Class in Maui Hawaii

The Salon industry has its own unique blend of business, creativity and evolution. Within the industry, you’ll find many passionate people who are committed to the beauty of others. Within spas and salons, they give their clients the ability to look and feel great about themselves. At some point within their careers, they will think of opening their own spa or salon; however, most hair technicians have not had the business education to do this. Their primary cosmetology education is based on giving the best technical service to their clients and not on running a spa or salon. Because of this 80% of salons opening today are bankrupt within the first year of business. The remaining salons usually struggle for the next 10 years before they achieve a successful, profitable and stable business.

With this course of five classes, you will learn the fundamentals of salon/spa management including the most common mistakes and how to overcome them.

I will host this class at the University of Hawaii Maui Campus!

Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor In this Video was able to walk herself threw a stroke that she could be fully aware of what her left side and right side of her brain and to fully be aware of one side of her brain to the free feeling her being and the... other side of her brain to be thinking linearly & methodically as the other side gives you a feeling of "I am" the feeling of euphoria and free... To the other side of thinking and telling your body to be aware.
